In January the Upton-upon-Severn Primary School children from Year 5 visited the Houses of Parliament and were met by our local MP, Harriett Baldwin.

On Tuesday 14th February, Years 5 and 6 held a debate entitled ‘The Motion – this house believes that animals should not be kept in zoos’.  The Proposers (Year 6) laid out the main points of their opinion about the motion with an overview what the arguments would include.  The Opposition (Year 5) then laid out the arguments against the motion in the same way, giving evidence for their argument.  This debate was run in the same way that debates in the Houses of Parliament take place and in the picture we can see our MP Harriett Baldwin sharing with the children what happens within the Houses of Parliament on a daily basis.  This is all part of our ethos in supporting our life in modern Britain.
